CIVIL ENGINEERING |
- Contract 51, Vischer Ferry Road Capital Improvement Plan (Sanitary Sewers), Clifton Park, NY. This $2.2 million project involved complete project development phases from facilities planning, 10,000 linear feet of gravity sewer, 12,000 linear feet of 10" force main and two 1 MGD pumping stations and one retrofit of an existing 1.4 MGD station through final design, and permitting, construction documents and bidding, construction management and inspection. All improvements were completed on time and within budget.
- Mill Pond Dam Reconstruction, Lake Placid, NY. This project involved the design and permitting work for the complete replacement of this structure, as well as the preparation of the municipal bidding package and award of contract to a qualified bidder. The project was completed during the 1999 construction season.
- Advanced Wastewater Treatment with Spray Irrigation, Lake Placid, NY. This innovative project was recognized by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) who provided a grant for the construction and subsequent monitoring and testing. The aim of this project was to reduce phosphorus loading to the Chubb River. To accomplish this we designed a system which conveys treated effluent from the Village of Lake Placid's Wastewater Treatment Plant to a neighboring resort property where it is applied by spray irrigation to an existing golf course. The Project was successfully completed and approved by all reviewing agencies. It was constructed during the 1997 construction season and its first year of operation proved to be a complete success.
